The Center was founded sometime during the years 1972-1974. Ar-Razzaq Islamic Center was first called Mosque #34, and it was originally affiliated with the Nation of Islam. The name was changed to Masjid Ar-Razzaq after the congregation adopted the orthodox Islam of Imam Warith Deen Muhammad, and was more recently changed to Ar-Razzaq Islamic Center. The Muslims who worship at Ar-Razzaq Islamic Center are predominantly African-American. Of the seventy-five regular worshippers at Ar-Razzaq Islamic Center, twenty-five are children and teenagers.
